LOCAL TRAINING

GFSAR’s regular training occurs the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 18h00 @ Grand Forks (530 South Nursery Rd or, if you prefer: +49.0117, -118.3962)  One weekend day a month is set aside for more robust training with longer, specialized training events sprinkled throughout the year.

2018/19 GSAR TRAINING (for MiTs/members in training)

  • Sep. 12, 19 & 26 (evenings) – EMRG-1701 GSAR Orientation and Safety @ Castlegar
  • Sep. 29 & 30 (weekend) – EMRG-1704 Wilderness Survival @ Creston
  • Oct. 10 & 17 (evenings) – EMRG-1702 Introduction to Search Management @ Rossland
  • Nov. 3 & 4 (weekend) – EMRG-1705 Navigation Skills @ Castlegar
  • Dec. 1 & 2 (weekend) – EMRG-1704 GSAR Skills @ Grand Forks
  • Other modules to be completed online by self-study by individual students.

2017/18 GSAR TRAINING (for MiTs/members in training)

  • Jan. 24 & 31 – Orientation and search progression @ Castlegar
  • Feb. 3 – Winter/Survival Module (no overnight) @ Oliver – reach out to Grant if interested
  • Feb. 7 & 21 evenings – Intro to Search Management Module @ Castlegar
  • Mar. 24 & 25 – Survival Module (includes overnight) @ Rossland
  • Apr. 14 & 15 – GSAR Skills Module @ Grand Forks
  • Jun. 2 & 3 – Navigation Module @ Grand Forks
